About The Course

Learn how to plant the water. It's really quite simple once you understand the very simple steps of the design process. Design theme, what's your goal? Surveying levels, what is possible? Understanding soils, what can I physically do?

Anyone can do this on their own scale Urban, Rural, or Gorilla water Harvesting.

Place:

Snowy Mountains Tumut, NSW, Australia

The venue is Doc Spice Permacultures home situated on half an acre, 10 minutes from Gundagai and Tumut.

Recently here at our home, the Doc has completed a whole host of examples that we are excited to share with you. The Water Harvesting structures, diversion drains and driveway shaping to feed water to the Water Retention Systems of terraces, swales, garden beds and soakage pits.

Our Water Storage is in the form of 2 dams, the larger at the bottom of the site 250,000 litres, which I like to add filled in 1.5 hours on a 25mm rain event late one night in February just from the stormwater drains on the main road.

The smaller dam of 70,000 litres at the top of the site, simply is a climate moderator and wildlife habitat. Creating serenity mostly so I can look at the life a water body attracts while I'm cooking in our cob oven.

We now have surplus water retained by design, come and check it out.

With these real-life examples on this site and the years of experience David has had, working across Australia and internationally for many years creating Water Retention landscapes, this course is not to be missed.

This course will be taught with a good mix of design theory,
